MURRAY OUT OF WATER is on sale today!
The day is here: preorders are now just orders. My debut novel is now available as a hardcover, ebook, or audiobook for your enjoyment. Happy reading everyone!
Today’s the day: I’m a published author.
My debut middle grade novel in verse Murray Out of Water is on sale today and I am taking a day to soak in this momentous achievement. Yes, there is more promo to be done. Website updates to make. Emails to bookstores for upcoming travel to send. So much to do, all the time.
But this morning, and for the rest of the day, I want to hit pause. Take some time to feel the joy and pride I should at this huge accomplishment. I wrote a book (in reality, I’ve written like nine full books and if we’re counting rewrites, the number grows exponentially). I have written a book that has cleared the massive hurdles of traditional publishing to make it onto a shelf, onto an e-reader, into a pair of headphones near you, dear reader.
Murray Out of Water feels like a statistical impossibility and my joy feels impossible to fully capture. As a writer, I am truly lost for words. Huge thank you to Jordan and Maria for your fierce advocacy for me as a writer. To Alyssa and the whole HarperCollins team. To Chris and Kate for being the booksellers to believe in me as a tiny debut author. And Olivia, as always.
Now, I’m off to have some coffee and French toast with my partner before doing a few bookstore stops on our way southbound towards the ocean. Where else would I go to celebrate my weird little book for kids and adults alike about the power of community and the magic of the sea?
Reminder: come see me at an upcoming event!
You can view all my upcoming events and details here on my website.
But if you’re in the NYC area, you should totally come to my official launch event this Friday, May 24th at 7pm. I’ll be in conversation with middle grade extraordinaire and fellow Jersey writer Nicole Melleby at the Bureau of General Services-Queer Division in the LGBT Community Center in NYC. And if you’re not from the NYC area, no worries. It’s going to be streaming live on their YouTube channel!
You can now order Murray Out of Water everywhere books are sold.
I hope you’ll consider going through your local indie, but here are some helpful links if you want to order signed copies, the audiobook, or a major retailer that doesn’t share its name with the biggest rainforest in the world:
Congrats Taylor! I'm so happy to see this out in the world!
