Announcing the "Pasta Girls" Pre-order Campaign!
Anyone like bookmarks and stickers? If so, be sure to save those receipts and library catalog requests. Or better yet, preorder directly from one of my favorite local indies!
Hello lovely people!
My next middle grade novel, Pasta Girls, releases on September 9, 2025. I can’t believe that is now just three months away.
So, in honor of the start of Pride Month and in order to get people excited, I am announcing the preorder campaign for those who have already or will preorder the book from the online retailer or (preferably) their local indie, those who have requested Pasta Girls be in the catalog of their local library (this helps more than you know!), or who order directly from my favorite local indie, Thunder Road Books.
Please let me emphasize: preorders are so important for authors, especially those like me who do not receive lead title marketing support from their publishers. These numbers show both bookstores and my publisher that people are interested in this book and my work, and can help support future acquisitions of my work. If you want to support me and my books, preordering a copy is one of the best and most tangible ways to do so in addition to spreading the word and telling people if you love the book.
Preorder Campaign with Thunder Road Books
If you preorder Pasta Girls directly from Thunder Road Books (for $21.31, which is the $19.99 cover price plus $1.32 in NJ sales tax), you will receive a signed (and personalized, if you specify!) copy of the book, three themed stickers (the Less Poison, More Pasta sticker will be a glitter or holographic 3x3 and the two restaurant stickers will be matte 2x2) and a themed Pasta Girls bookmark.
Preorders from Online Retailers, Indie Bookstores & Library Catalog Requests
If you’ve already preordered Pasta Girls, or plan to, before it releases on September 9, 2025, submit your receipt or catalog request to this form in order to receive three Pasta Girls stickers (the 3x3 glitter/holograph and two 2x2 restaurant stickers), the bookmark and a signed bookplate to stick into your copy of the book or wherever else you enjoy putting stickers signed by your favorite authors.
Some places that are not owned by a billionaire where you can preorder my book:
Your preferred local indie bookstore!
Bookshop.org (and this is my affiliate link, so I’ll get a little extra $ if you use it!)
Libro.fm (if audiobooks are more your speed! Don’t worry, it won’t actually be abridged!!)
Still not convinced?
Here’s what some lovely authors have had to say about Pasta Girls so far:
“Pasta Girls is a fun and romantic ride about two neurodivergent lesbians discovering who they are and who they want to be. Tracy has written a Shakespeare retelling that centers her queer middle grade characters' needs within this age old story. A book perfect for any readers' shelf that will have you yearning to be kissed on a ferris wheel, eat all the pasta, and make plans for the next San Gennaro.”
— Nicole Melleby, award-winning author of Winnie Nash is Not Your Sunshine
“Pasta Girls is the middle-grade Romeo and Juliet retelling of my dreams. This aptly constructed tale of pasta and woe is filled to the brim with heart, humor, and forbidden first love. Ro and Jules are as unforgettable as they are loveable and this Shakespearean tale of family, food, and friendship will stay with you long after you have closed the book.”
— Nashae Jones, author of Courtesy of Cupid
“Pasta Girls is a feast: of first love, friendship, family, and finding your way. Readers will root for Ro and Jules as they refuse to settle for anything less than their dreams, even if they are still trying to figure out what shape those dreams will take. A beautiful middle grade love story.”
— Kate Fussner, author of 13 Ways to Say Goodbye and The Song of Us
“With Pasta Girls, Taylor Tracy serves up a queer love story that is sweeter than zeppole and perfect for younger teens! Filled with mouth-watering descriptions of Italian food, adoring nonnas, and young, neurodiverse queer love—this book has something for everyone.”
— Jake Maia Arlow, Stonewall Honor Author of Almost Flying
“As sweet as cannoli and as satisfying as homemade pesto on fresh, crusty bread, Pasta Girls is a delightfully un-tragic riff on Romeo and Juliet that centers two eminently relatable queer, neurodivergent young teens. Readers who crave upper middle grade stories about eighth and ninth grade characters will devour Taylor Tracy's ode to New York City, Italian food, and first love.”
— Laurie Morrison, author of Up for Air and Keeping Pace
